Thomas L. Lederer studied Physics, Mechanical Engineering and Informatics at LMU München and the Technische Universität Berlin. He holds a German equivalent of a Master's level degree in Informatics (Diplom-Informatiker Univ.) from the LMU Munich. During his studies he started to work freelance for several companies and facilities, doing consulting as well as development. Working in the field of IP since 2007, he joined TBK, one of the leading intellectual property firms in Germany and Europe, to be trained not only a German Patent Attorney, but also a professional representative before the European Patent Office (i.e. "European Patent Attorney"). During his training he also completed an optional station at the Higher Regional Court Munich and the obligatory internship (i.e. "Amtsjahr") at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and the German Federal Patent Court. Until June 2014 he was IP Counsel of retarus GmbH. He is now a Patent Attorney at Dennemeyer & Associates S.A., based in Munich. As a computer, information and data scientist he is specialised on computer-implemented inventions, but with his background in physics and mechanical engineering he also deal with these fields of technology. Thomas is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge in Italian and Japanese.
