The Dennemeyer Group and IPCORP are pleased to announce their partnership, aiming to ensure the optimal use of blockchain technology for the protection of the Intellectual Property (IP).
IPCORP is a startup with the goal to implement blockchain technology for the better protection of Intellectual Property. The platform for that, a database called IPCHAIN, is currently in development and specifically addresses the needs of innovators, researchers, artists and inventors. It complements Intellectual Property management strategies by offering proof of authorship via secure digital publication on the blockchain and highly advanced search functionalities. Unlike other prior art databases, IPCHAIN's unique blockchain architecture gives innovators the ability to easily and safely share their work, document the transfer of IP rights and to interact with other professionals.
Dr. Reinhold Nowak, CEO of the world’s most comprehensive IP full-service provider, the Dennemeyer Group, looks forward to the collaboration: “This cooperation is another opportunity for the Dennemeyer Group to not only observe closely the development of new IP management services, but to stay a frontrunner in this field to best serve our global clients. The Dennemeyer Group will not only consult on the development of this new platform, but also offer complementary ,classic’ IP services to the users of IPCHAIN.”
In the context of the co-operation, Dr. Richard Brunner, the Global Head of Legal at Dennemeyer Group and an expert in IP law, has been appointed member of IPCORP’s advisory board. He says: “The new technology that IPCHAIN offers is the basis for a tool that sensibly complements existing options and ensures greater comfort and security for the protection of IP. Of special relevance is, in my eyes, the fact that it can function as an alternative to defensive publications in relevant scientific magazines.” Sometimes inventors who don’t want to patent their invention have to wait for months if not years for such a publication that excludes others from protecting the inventions as theirs. Dr. Richard Brunner: “IPCHAIN will easily document the time and details of an invention with legal certainty before its publication.”
By combining the benefits of a database with decentralized blockchain technology, IPCHAIN is comparable to an incorruptible and unchangeable ledger. This unique solution provides a particularly easy and secure way to unequivocally prove ownership of intellectual property. The IPCHAIN token sale (ICO) and the release of the beta version of IPCHAIN is planned for the middle of 2018.
Dr. Dominik Thor, CEO of IPCORP, states: “We consider the cooperation with Dennemeyer a great chance to further increase our understanding of the needs of our users and to expand the possible applications of the platform. The Dennemeyer Group, being the most comprehensive global full-service provider for the global management of IP, is the perfect partner for us: With their more than five decades of expertise in the field of Intellectual Property and their global presence with offices around the world, the Dennemeyer Group can help IPCORP to constantly optimize IPCHAIN. Besides, the group is able to offer complementary legal, administrative or consulting services to our users if necessary.”
IPCORP plans to constantly expand its advisory board in the coming months and win representatives from all segments of stakeholders from the IP industry: IP organizations such as WIPO, national patent offices, IP management professionals, IP lawyers and attorneys as well as universities.
